Panama City ARC Fall Tailgate, Oct 18th
Attention Ham Radio Operators:
I'd like to remind you about the Panama City Amateur Radio Club's Fall Tailgate coming up on Saturday, October 18th, from 9am to 1pm. Ham operators are invited to set up their rigs to showcase to the public what amateur radio is all about.
There's old and semi-new electronic equipment for sale inside the clubhouse. Plus, if you have equipment you'd like to sell or trade, bring it on down and display it on your vehicle's tailgate or set up a table. We've notified all the radio clubs in the panhandle and are expecting a significant number of buyers. You may just go home with money in your pocket or that piece of radio gear for your ham shack.
Activities and Features:
- Equipment Sales: Lots of gear for sale inside the clubhouse.
- Tailgate Style Selling: Bring your own items to sell or trade from your vehicle.
- Field Operations: We encourage amateur radio operators to set up their rigs and demonstrate getting on the air. Give the visiting public an idea about what amateur radio has to offer the community.
- Networking Opportunities: Meet fellow amateur radio enthusiasts and share experiences and knowledge.
- License Exams: License exams will be available for new hams or upgrades. Bring your ID, $14 exam fee, and your FRN number. Contact Gary Bills, AJ4KY.
- Foxhunt: Join the hunt for the fox! Bring your Radio Direction Finding (RDF) equipment. It’s fun, exciting, and educational.
- Food and Refreshments: Our chefs will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Served with chips/snacks and a drink. Each meal is only $5. Lunch at 12 noon.
Lunch will be served around noon. So come on out, meet some new ham friends, and share some radio stories with the newbies.
