David Kimmer, N4YEO, SK
In October we had to say goodbye to our friend and Treasurer, Darwin Kimmer, a good man with a great heart and spirit. He will be forever missed and remembered.

Below is the obituary originally published in the Panama City News-Herald.

David Darwin Kimmer
1941-2008
Mr. David Darwin Kimmer, 67, of Southport, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Miss.

Mr. Kimmer, the third of five children, was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Albion, Mich. Not now, but in the coming years, we will read the meaning of our tears, and someday in heaven, we will understand.

Mr. Kimmer was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Darwin and Lillian Decker Kimmer; and one sister, Marilyn Jean. He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Mrs. Bonnie H. Kimmer of Pascagoula, Miss.; one son, Mr. Steven Kimmer of Pascagoula, Miss.; five stepsons, Mr. Timmy Thomas, Mr. Michael Thomas, Mr. Ray Thomas, all of Pascagoula, Miss., Mr. Ray Haney and Mr. Johnny Haney, both of Jackson, Miss.; two daughters, Mrs. Debby (Bob) Sims of St. Cloud, Fla., and Mrs. Wanda Carew and family of Vancleave, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Liz (Bob) Kirby of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Darlene (Doug) Peters of Oviedo, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Ann (Tom) Potter of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and a devoted friend, Mr. Marvin Langley of Moss Point, Miss. He also leaves to cherish his memories his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends.

There is an opened gate at the end of the road through which each must go alone and there is a light we cannot see the Father claims his own.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Wright's Creek Sporting Club in Bonifay, Fla. For service information, please call (850) 373-7062.

Farewell, OM.
