The PCARC Clubhouse Is Closed New Year's Eve

The Christmas Eve "open for business" effort attracted two attendees: the President-Elect and the Sergeant-At-Arms-Elect. Our hearts were in the right place, but it really wasn't a good idea. The holiday season is about spending time with our families and friends.

For this reason, the PCARC will take a break for the remainder of the holiday season and will reopen on January 7, 2009.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all from the outgoing and incoming officers of the Panama City Amateur Radio Club. We'll see you next year!

[We did manage an HF Christmas Eve contact with a ham in Dayton, OH. In spite of the rapidly changing conditions on 20 meters, it was a great QSO.]

P.S.: The "offending" sprinkler head at the entrance of the clubhouse now sprays at a 90-degree pattern instead of a 360-degree pattern. This means the sprinkler will operate away from the clubhouse door, and as far away from the clubhouse wall as practical.

We suspect Santa Claus dropped by for an early Christmas gift. Just as we arrived, we spotted - disappearing in the distance - what appeared to be a jolly old man, dressed in red, flying off in a reindeer open sleigh!
