Finally, a photo of the man who pulled it all together and kept it going: Dave Kimmer N4YEO. In this photo he has already disassembled the net control antenna and is taking a much needed breather. We all met at Short Stacks in Southport at about 5:30 am for breakfast. You can tell the sun angle is getting low by the shadows on the building to the left - by now it's late afternoon. Breakfast is just a memory, closing your eyes gives images of slow-moving cyclists and strips of highway and dashed lines down the middle of the road, and the day - and job - is done. Good going, Dave.
If not for the efforts of the Panama City Amateur Radio Club there would have been no reliable communications for this race, which had over a hundred bicyclists riding through sometimes challenging terrain in the back woods of Florida.
